Points saillants

In the morning the general avalanche hazard is MODERATE at the high elevations and LOW elsewhere. A surface crust formed from yesterdays sun and warming will limit morning avalanche activity to pockets of surface slab to eighteen inches in depth on steep shaded slopes at the high elevations. When sunlight and warming weaken the snow surface the hazard will increase to HIGH at the low and mid elevations and to CONSIDERABLE at the high elevations(where less dramatic warming is expected.) In the afternoon, wet loose and wet slab avalanches will release easily to backcountry travel and may release naturally, particularly at mid elevations in the recent snow recieved and at the lowest of elevations where a rotten snowpack exists such as in the Hoback and Snake River Canyons where recent activity has been observed.
