Points saillants
The general avalanche hazard is HIGH today. Strong southwest winds and new snow have formed dense unstable slabs which lie upon light denisity snow. These slabs are likely to be easily triggered today and could release naturally. They could step down with crown depths of up to four feet to older layers of crust and weak faceted snow. Early this morning a Cow of the Woods slide in Hoback canyon released naturally depositing 10 feet of snow on the road. TRAVEL IN AVALANCHE TERRAIN IS NOT RECOMMENDED TODAY.
