Points saillants

The general avalanche hazard is CONSIDERABLE in steep avalanche terrain where dense unstable slabs formed by west to southwest winds up to three feet in depth lie upon weak faceted October snow. These dangerous slabs could be triggered by riders or skiers. As these slabs gain stability they will be harder to trigger. Riders and skiers may cross them several times and/or get further out onto them before they release. Avalanches are unlikley in areas not underlain by weak faceted old snow layers.
