Points saillants
The general avalanche hazard is MODERATE today. Dense slabs to two feet in depth lie on slopes at higher elevations. These slabs could be triggered today by backcountry users on steep slopes particularly near rocky and cliff areas and have the potential to pull out older, deep layers of weak snow. Friday a skier triggered a five foot deep hard slab as he approached a steep wind loaded easterly facing starting zone on Angle Mountain at an elevation of 10,280 feet. This slab is believed to have stepped down into old snow layers.
