Points saillants

At the mid and upper elevations pockets of soft surface slab up to 18 inches in depth lie upon slick sliding surfaces and could be triggered on a variety of aspects. Deep slab instabilities also persist. Hard slabs 2 to 4 feet in depth could also be human triggered. An unconfirmed report indicates an avalanche fatality involving a snowmobiler may have occured Wednesday at a location northwest of Jackson, Montana. Expect loose snow to sluff on steeper slopes which have not been affected by the wind. Be aware of terrain traps and steep wind loaded aspects.
