2 to 4 feet of snow accumulated on widespread persistent weak layers such as fragile facets and faceted crusts. Avalanches are propagating hundreds of feet wide and being remotely triggered. This is not a manageable avalanche problem. Avoidance is the travel advice. Very large avalanches might run naturally today on heavily drifted leeward slopes at upper elevations.
1/15: 4 natural, Persistent Slab avalanches on Schuylkill Ridge. Crowns appear to be around 3-ish feet deep. Slabs are now well connected through terrain even in sheltered areas. The viewer's right crown is hundreds of feet wide.
