Points saillants

At the higher elevations, isolated pockets of surface slab up to a foot deep lie upon firm crusts and could be triggered by backcountry travelers venturing onto steep, avalanche prone slopes. Avalanches are unlikely below an elevation of 8,500 feet where snow depths are generally less than a foot deep.
