Avalanche Summary

Triggering a dangerous avalanche is becoming rarer, and most slopes are generally safe. However, you should consider a few scenarios if you are riding in steep terrain. With increased westerly winds, watch out for small slabs forming at the top of isolated terrain features. Even a small slide that sweeps you off your feet can be dangerous if you are in consequential terrain.

The winds should also help keep wet avalanche issues in check, but be on the lookout later in the day if you find wet snow surfaces. The sun is intense this time of year, and generating small wet sluffs on steep sunny slopes could be an issue.
