Avalanche Summary

You can trigger avalanches in the new and freshly wind-drifted snow near and above treeline. Stick to slopes with a slope angle less than about 30 degrees in spots where you find more than about 8 inches of new or recently wind-drifted snow. The wind direction will be erratic, so you may find wind-loading in abnormal spots, like westerly-facing slopes and the sides of gullies and couloirs.

It will rain below 10,500 feet. Many places don't have enough snow for dangerous avalanches, but if you find yourself sinking into wet unconsolidated snow, you should avoid steep slopes and think about calling it a day.
