Points saillants
A sensitive, unstable snowpack exists at the mid and upper elevations where soft surface slabs to two feet in depth lie upon faceted snow and hard crusts. These slabs could be easily triggered today by backcountry users on steep wind loaded avalanche slopes and possibly upon approach to the area. Do not underestimate the consequences of these avalanche conditions where relatively small avalanches can be so easily triggered. At low elevations avalanches are unlikely within the shallow snowpack.
