Points saillants
The general avalanche hazard is CONSIDERABLE on the west side of the continental divide and HIGH on the east side of the divide today. Very strong west winds and new snow have formed DANGEROUS slabs two to four feet in depth on leeward aspects. These slabs are likely to be easily triggered in steep wind loaded starting zones and could step down to buried layers of weak faceted snow. TRAVEL IN AVALANCHE TERRAIN ON THE EAST SIDE OF THE DIVIDE IS NOT RECOMMENDED TODAY. GOOD TERRAIN EVALUATION AND ROUTE SELECTION SKILLS ARE ESSENTIAL FOR SAFE TRAVEL IN AVALANCHE TERRAIN ON THE WEST SIDE OF THE DIVIDE TODAY.
