Points saillants

Mild rainy weather for the next few days will increase the avalanche hazard especially treeline and below.

Problèmes avalancheux

  • Loose Wet

    • Sous la limite forestière
    Probabilité
    Unlikely - Possible
    Taille

Expect a moderate melt freeze crust to form Sunday night that will deteriorate rapidly with the warm rainy conditions forecast for Monday. Loose snow avalanches are possible below treeline if we receive heavier than predicted showers.
  • Deep Persistent Slabs

    • Alpin
    • Limite forestière
    • Sous la limite forestière
    Probabilité
    Unlikely - Possible
    Taille
    2–4
Large triggers such as cornice failure or serac fall can trigger very large avalanches. Recently, ice fall released a large slab avalanche on a steep north facing glacial slope on Mt Andromeda.
