Forecast Snow Stability: Recently deposited windslab will be present in wind sheltered areas. Greatest accumulations will be on West through North to East aspects above 900 metres, with South-West also affected. This windslab will slowly consolidate through the period. Fragile cornices will be present above these aspects. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.
Forecast Weather Influences: Winds will be moderate, mainly South-South-Westerly. A few snow showers are possible early evening, then it is expected to be dry overnight and during the morning, with light snow showers above 900 metres through the afternoon. The freezing level will be 900 metres overnight, rising to around 1100 metres during the afternoon. Observed Weather Influences: Winds were generally strong Easterly. Snow showers above around 800 metres. The freezing level rose to around 900 metres. ObservedSnowStability: Further deposition of unstable windslab has taken place in wind sheltered areas, mainly on South-West through West to North aspects. Greatest accumulations of new and recently deposited windslab are on West through North to East aspects above 900 metres. South-West is also affected. Unstable cornices have formed above these aspects. The avalanche hazard is Considerable.
