The overall avalanche danger is LOW to MODERATE today. There is still a chance for a human triggered avalanche in very steep terrain especially where the snowpack is shallow, say, less than 4 feet deep. If you find that you're boots are punching deep into the snowpack, you are in an area with weak snow which is a more likely place to find avalanches today.

Wednesday: There was a minor disturbance that moved through mid day on Wednesday that produced a period of snow that added a trace to an inch of snow in the high country. Generally, temperatures stayed mild and the snow was damp on all aspects below about 9200 feet in elevation. The higher terrain holds a deeper and stronger snowpack, the lower terrain holds a shallower, weaker and more "punchy" snowpack.

Today & Friday: The storm originally advertised for today into Friday is looking less significant with snow totals trending lower over the last few weather model runs. We'll see increasing clouds today and the minor storm will move through late this afternoon into Friday bringing 2 to 5 inches of snow. Temperatures will remain fairly mild although slightly cooler than Wednesday.

Extended: Another storm is shaping up for Saturday into Sunday which looks more impressive and should bring another 6 to 12 inches of snow. The extended period looks active with small storms moving through during the 10 day period.
