The avalanche danger is low. Up to 20 cm of new fallen snow has been brought down by north-westerly winds over the last few days on ground that was previously mostly bare. Touring options remain severely limited and snow relevant for burial can only accumulate in well-recognised terrain traps. However, the risk of avalanches is outweighed by the risk of injury from underlying rocks.

There is a succession of thin layers of drifting snow on the meadows. The snow cover is well below average and very variable.

In the second half of the night, increasingly compact cloud fields will move in from the north. The wind picks up on the peaks during the night and reaches speeds of around 60 km/h in the morning hours. On Friday, the weather will increasingly deteriorate from the north and bring more snow showers. The amounts are still uncertain, but more than 10 cm will likely not fall anywhere. Short gaps of cloud may form from time to time. The wind on the mountains will be brisk at times from the west with gusts of around 60 km/h. Temperatures will drop again, reaching around -8 degrees at 2000 metres.

The avalanche danger remains low on Saturday despite some new fallen snow.
