Up to 60 cm of snow, and even more in some localities, has fallen since Saturday. The moderate wind has transported the new snow. The new snow is poorly bonded with the old snowpack in many places and generally at intermediate and high altitudes. In particular at intermediate and high altitudes a lot of snow is lying for the time of year.
The avalanche activity will gradually decrease.
Outside marked and open pistes a dangerous avalanche situation will persist.
The new snow of the last two days can be released easily or naturally in all aspects and generally at intermediate and high altitudes. Including in starting zones in which avalanches have already been released and at intermediate and high altitudes medium-sized and, in isolated cases, large avalanches are to be expected. Ski touring and other off-piste activities, including snowshoe hiking, call for extensive experience in the assessment of avalanche danger.
