Points saillants

Avalanches are unlikely on Sunday. Always watch for signs of unstable snow, and use safe travel practices like riding 30-degree slopes one at a time.

Avalanche Discussion

Conditions have not changed much in the last few days. After last week's sun, warm temps, and wind, the snow surface across much of the alpine is firm and crusty, and soft snow is hard to come by up high. In the trees, some pockets of soft snow remain in shaded areas.

Our current snowpack hazards are not related to avalanches, but variable and challenging riding conditions. Nevertheless, always watch for signs of instability in the backcountry, and practice safe travel techniques, like riding one at a time and regrouping away from terrain traps.
