Points saillants

Cross-loading and reverse wind loading has created widespread windslab through the region in open areas, on many aspects at treeline and above.

Isolated to very specific sheltered locations at treeline.

Specific to steep terrain. Ice climbers should pay particular attention to this as entrenched loose snow may have the volume to knock climbers off their stance.

Weather Forecast

A series of weak pacific disturbances will pass over the region for the next 72hrs under a westerly atmospheric flow bringing very light precipitation to upper elevations and cool seasonal temps.

Snowpack Summary

Recent snow remains unconsolidated except where exposed to wind and soft slabs have been formed. The snow depth is variable at all elevations. There is a crust/facet layer distributed through the region in the mid-pack with mixed reactivity and a weak basal facet/depth hoar layer at the base of the pack.
