Problèmes avalancheux

  • Wind slab

    • Above 2,400 m

Avalanche Activity

The wind will transport the loosely bonded old snow.

The wind will be strong to storm force in the regions exposed to the foehn wind. Since Monday mostly small wind slabs formed in particular at high altitude. The wind slabs can be released in all aspects. Gradual decrease in danger of moist and wet avalanches as the temperature drops. Only isolated avalanches are possible as the day progresses. In the event of solar radiation this applies in particular on rocky slopes.

Snowpack Structure

The snowpack is favourably layered. This applies in particular at low and intermediate altitudes. Outgoing longwave radiation during the night was reduced. The surface of the snowpack is frozen, but not to a significant depth. At intermediate and high altitudes there is more snow than usual.
