Nedbør i form av snø i fjellet og vind vil føre til at det vert danna ferske fokksnøflak i leheng. Høge temperaturar gjer at stabiliseringa går fort, men det kan vere lett å løyse ut skred medan og like etter at flaka har blitt danna.

Snowpack Structure

Det er lite snø i regionen og spesielt vest i området er det lite skiføre under 1000 moh. Rundt Røldal er det flekkvis skare/smelteomvandlet snø.
