Avalanche Activity

Light snowfall at low altitude. Many starting zones have released the snow to some extent. The new snow and wind slabs can be released easily or naturally in all aspects.

The avalanche prone locations are to be found at the base of rock walls and behind abrupt changes in the terrain and adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls. In all aspects medium-sized and, in isolated cases, large natural avalanches are possible. The avalanches can reach as far as the valley bottom and in some places endanger transportation routes. This applies in case of releases originating from starting zones that have retained the snow thus far. Extensive experience in the assessment of avalanche danger is required.

Snowpack Structure

Up to 10 cm of snow will fall. The new snow and wind slabs remain in some cases prone to triggering in all aspects. The wind slabs are barely recognisable because of the poor visibility.

Tendency

The weather report and anticipated change in the avalanche danger are uncertain.
