Avalanche Activity

CM for 11/02 Wet snow instabilities and cornice hazard above 850m N-E-SE. Improved stability lower elevations and snow loss. Haz Mod

Forecast Snow Stability: The snowpack will continue to slowly consolidate although some wet snow instabilities will persist mainly on North through East to South-East aspects above 850 meters. Areas most affected will be steep terrain. On these aspects remaining cornices will be prone to collapse and there will be the potential for full depth avalanches from very steep slopes. Improved stability and continued depletion of snowpack at lower elevations. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: Winds will be mainly gale force from the West at first then back to become strong West-South-West. Precipitation will fall as rain through the evening, becoming dry pre dawn. Freezing level will be above the summits. Observed Weather Influences: Gale force winds from the West-South-West with constant rain and the freezing level above the summits. ObservedSnowStability: Recent accumulations of windslab mainly found on North through East to South-East aspects above 850 meters has become wet and continues to show signs of instability.
