Avalanche Summary

You can trigger an avalanche on northerly and easterly-facing slopes. A thick slab is resting on top of old, weak snow near the ground. It will be easier to trigger an avalanche in areas with shallower snow, like near rocks and trees, because it is easier to affect the deeper weak layers. Stick to southerly-facing slopes or slopes less than 30 degrees to reduce your chance of triggering an avalanche.
