Points saillants
The general avalanche hazard is MODERATE above 8,500 feet and LOW below that elevation. Northwest to west winds have formed pockets of new soft surface slab up to a foot deep on leeward aspects at the higher elevations. In addition weak snow persist at the base of the snowpack. Humans who venture onto steep slopes could trigger a surface slab and may have some potential to trigger a full depth hard slab avalanche. The potential for humans to trigger a full depth hard slab avalanche will increase as the day progresses and temperatures warm.
