Problèmes avalancheux

  • Wind slab

    • Above 2,000 m

Avalanche Activity

The wind will transport the old snow.

The wind slabs must be evaluated with care and prudence in all aspects. The wind slabs can be released, especially by large additional loads, in all aspects above approximately 1900 m.

Snowpack Structure

The snowpack is largely stable and its surface has a crust that is strong in many cases. This applies in particular below approximately 2800 m. In steep terrain there is a danger of falling on the hard crust. Faceted weak layers exist in the snowpack in particular on shady slopes.
