Central Cascades

No specific avalanche types are expected on Sunday and any avalanche large enough to bury a person is unlikely. However it is good to remember that isolated pockets of unstable snow can exist in the mountains on any day. Keep an open mind to observing the conditions and be aware if you encounter any signs of unstable snow. Continue to use safe travel practices and carry the standard backcountry kit including transceiver, shovel, and probe.

On Sunday, we will be lucky if the snow softens up enough for good riding. I do not expect wet snow avalanches to be a problem. However it is always good to observe changing conditions. If the day warms up more than expected, keep an eye on how the surface snow is changing. Look for clues like the surface snow becoming wet and slushy, rollerballs, and pinwheels as signs that these avalanches can happen. 

For anyone traveling into the mid and upper elevations, be cautious when approaching ridgetops especially if you do not have a good vantage point to see if a cornice is present. Avoid stepping out onto a cornice. They can break under the weight of a person and send you tumbling onto the slope below.
