Points saillants

Conditions on Saturday will be drastically different than we've gotten used to, but the avalanche hazard won't be.  Expect colder, stormier weather.  While light snowfall is in the forecast, I'm not anticipating enough accumulation to create a significant Wind Slab problem.  Riders might see very shallow cracking on Northeast slopes at and above treeline, and if you do evaluate the depth of that newly deposited snow.

Avalanche Discussion

Colder temperatures and stormy weather mean that we won't have any instabilities related to melting.  The forecast isn't calling for more than a couple of inches of new snow by Saturday evening.  Any instabilities will be related to this new snow and as such will be very shallow and limited to wind loaded slopes at and above treeline.
