Avalanche Activity

The wind slabs represent the main danger.

Less snow than usual is lying. Backcountry tourers or freeriders can release avalanches in some places, with a large load in most cases. Small and medium-sized avalanches are possible in particular adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls. Even in moderately steep terrain there is a danger of falling on the hard snow surface.

Snowpack Structure

The old snowpack will be prone to triggering in some places. This applies in particular on steep shady slopes above approximately 1900 m. Towards its base, the snowpack is faceted and weak.
