Forecast Snow Stability: Stability in the existing patchy snowpack will remain good with the surface becoming firm as the temperature drops. Isolated accumulations of unstable windslab will develop during the day, mainly on North-East to South-East aspects above 900 metres, but these are not expected to be deep or significant. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Forecast Weather Influences: Rain overnight, this will turn to snow above around 500 metres during the day. Very strong South-West winds will veer West-North-Westerly and ease slightly through the day. The freezing level will drop from above the summits to around 600 metres. Observed Weather Influences: After a cool dry start the day became wet with the freezing level rising above the summits. Strong and increasing West-South-Westerly winds. ObservedSnowStability: Isolated wet snow surface instabilities are present in the shallow layer of fresh snow above 900 metres. The old snowpack remains well bonded and stable. The avalanche hazard is Low.
