Forecast Snow Stability: The snowpack will remain generally well bonded and stable. New snow amounts overnight are not expected to be significant. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Forecast Weather Influences: Very strong West-North-Westerly winds will soon ease slightly and back to become South-Westerly. Light precipitation falling as snow above 900 metres for a time overnight will be followed by a drier morning and then rain at all levels in the afternoon. The freezing level will rise from around 900 metres initially to above the summits during the day. Observed Weather Influences: It was mainly dry with very strong West-North-Westerly winds. The freezing level was around 1000 metres. ObservedSnowStability: The patchy snowpack is generally well bonded and stable. More recent snowfall is soft and thawing below around 1000 metres but is starting to re-freeze above this. The older snowpack remains firm in most locations. The avalanche hazard is Low.
