Avalanche Activity

Moist and wet avalanches are the main danger.

Especially on very steep sunny slopes mostly small wet slab avalanches are possible above approximately 1800 m. The prevalence of the avalanche prone locations will increase from the late morning.

Snowpack Structure

The snowpack will be subject to considerable local variations. The older wind slabs are to be found especially adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls and generally at high altitudes. The spring-like weather conditions will give rise to thorough wetting of the snowpack. On very steep slopes and at high altitude the likelihood of wet avalanches will increase during the day.
