Backcountry travelers venturing into avalanche terrain could trigger dangerous hard slabs up to six feet in depth along with dense surface slabs up to two feet in depth. Conservative decision making, combined with excellent terrain evaluation and route finding skills, will be essential for safe travel in avalanche terrain.
