Avalanche Summary

The new snow that falls on Wednesday is unlikely to change the avalanche danger during the day but be on the lookout for rapidly changing conditions. You can trigger an avalanche in the new snow if you find 10 inches of new snow forming a cohesive slab over the old weak snow surface. Look for cracking or collapsing in the new snow as a sign to move to lower-angled slopes. The new snow could also make loose snow avalanches more easy to trigger and larger. Be aware that the new snow may also obscure areas of drifted snow, especially at upper elevations. You can find safer travel options by sticking to slopes less than about 30 degrees in steepness or by choosing lower elevation slopes with less than 10 inches of new snow. Expect more dangerous conditions on Thursday.
