Avalanche Summary

You could trigger an avalanche where strong winds blow new snow into cohesive slabs on lee slopes. Wind-drifted snow often looks smooth and pillowy or feels firm. On northwest to north through east slopes, new snow sits above shallow buried weak layers. Avoid trigger points like buried rocks or trees, convex rollovers, or the edges of slopes where the slab is the thinnest. You can find safer travel on slopes less than about 35 degrees in steepness.
