Points saillants

A thin early season snowpack exists above an elevation of 8,500 feet on northerly aspects and 9,000 feet on southerly aspects. Snow surfaces are comprised of well developed surface hoar on hard melt-freeze crusts. The ground is bare below these elevations. The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch. Periods of heavy snowfall accompanied by strong southwest winds are expected to develop on Friday.
