Points saillants
At the higher elevations west winds have created isolated pockets of wind slab up to a foot deep on leeward aspects. These slabs lie upon slick, hard crusts and could be triggered by people who venture onto steep avalanche prone slopes. Avalanches are not likely below an elevation of 8,500 feet where the snow is generally less than a foot deep.
