Avalanche Summary
Most slopes are generally safe from avalanches. Isolated pockets of hazard may exist at upper elevations where drifted snow sits on a firm surface. Even a small avalanche can have large consequences in the wrong terrain. Adjust your travel plans if you see signs of instability in drifted snow, such as cracking in the snow surface.
The chance for small Loose Wet avalanche activity increases during sunny and warm periods. Avoid traveling on or under steep slopes where you observe rollerballs or pinwheels. Even with good overnight freezes, it's always a good idea in the spring to start and end your day early, as wet snow hazards increase as the day progresses.
