Points saillants

The general avalanche hazard remains MODERATE. DANGEROUS hard slabs one to three feet in depth lie upon a persistant weak layer of faceted snow. User triggered slab avalanches are possible in steep, wind loaded avalanche prone terrain. Variations in the distribution of this buried weak layer make it difficult to determine which slopes are unstable. As hard snow overlies this weak layer, a slope may fail even after it has been crossed many times and the weak layer is finally affected.
