Avalanche Summary

Avoid rounded pillows of snow that may crack when you weight them. You may find these on almost any aspect as the winds have trended around the compass multiple times this week. Fresh snow overnight will create new slabs of snow and hide the older ones. Steep slopes beneath cornices and gullies will be the most dangerous. You can find safer travel on lower-angled slopes.

Avoid steep southerly slopes if the sun pops out, even for just a couple of hours. Sheltered gullies, with rocky walls to heat up, will be the first slopes to pop out Loose Dry avalanches.
