Dangerous avalanche conditions exist. The most dangerous slopes are where recent winds drifted new snow into 1 to 2 foot-thick slabs on leeward slopes, generally facing east directions, near and above treeline. Here you can easily trigger an avalanche large enough to bury you. Approach any steep slope with caution if you are traveling in an area that received around a foot of new snow. Safer travel options exist in wind-sheltered terrain below treeline and on slopes with less than around 10 inches of new snow.
