Snowpack Structure

In some cases the wind slabs have bonded poorly. They can be released easily. In particular, however, sometimes avalanche prone wind slabs formed adjacent to ridgelines in all aspects and generally in the high Alpine regions.

Avalanche Activity

The wind was strong adjacent to ridgelines in particular in the north. The wind has transported the new snow significantly. The avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular on wind-loaded slopes of all aspects above approximately 2000 m and at transitions from a shallow to a deep snowpack. The fresh wind slabs are to be found in particular adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls.
