Avalanche Activity

As a consequence of warming during the day and the solar radiation, the likelihood of moist and wet avalanches being released will increase quickly in particular on very steep sunny slopes.

As a consequence of warming during the day and solar radiation wet and gliding avalanches are possible from the late morning. In the event of solar radiation this applies in particular on very steep slopes. Occasionally large natural avalanches are possible especially on rocky sunny slopes. The new snow and wind slabs can be released in some cases at intermediate and high altitudes. The dry avalanches can as before reach medium size. Backcountry tours, off-piste skiing and ascents to alpine cabins should be started and concluded very early.

Snowpack Structure

The snowpack consists of rounded crystals. This applies in particular at low and intermediate altitudes. The surface of the snowpack will only just freeze and will already be soft in the early morning. In the last few days numerous small and medium-sized avalanches were observed. At intermediate and high altitudes there is more snow than usual.

Tendency

The weather will be very mild.
