CM for 28/12/22 Mod hazard. Mainly NW through N to E aspects above 850m.

Forecast Snow Stability: Poorer stability overnight on steep North-West through North to East aspects above 850m, followed by transition to better consolidated snow by mid afternoon. Minor new accumulations of humid windslab on steep North West to North aspects above 900m much later. Weak cornices. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: Snow showers early and late in the forecast period. Fresh to strong Southerly or south Westerly airflow easing to light before becoming fresh South Easterly. Freezing near summits but cooler for a time during the morning. Observed Weather Influences: Generally dry overnight then snow showers from dawn onwards. Moderate West winds, then South Easterly with onset of snow. Cold but temperatures easing slightly during the course of the day. ObservedSnowStability: Poorer stability overnight on North-East to East aspects above 900m and again during the day on North-West to North aspects of similar altitude. Less cold temperatures later in the day brought early consolidation to snow on all aspects. The avalanche hazard is Moderate
