Adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls the avalanches can be released easily. In addition wind slabs will form especially in gullies and bowls in all aspects as the day progresses.

Since yesterday the wind has been strong adjacent to ridgelines over a wide area. The fresh wind slabs are to be found in particular adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls.

Snowpack Structure

Over a wide area 40 cm of snow, and up to 40 cm in some localities, has fallen since Saturday above approximately 1800 m. The new snow can be released easily or naturally in all aspects above the tree line. The new snow is lying on surface hoar in areas close to the tree line. Towards its base, the snowpack is faceted and weak.
