Forecast Snow Stability: Weak windslab will gain depth and become extensive on most lee slopes. Poor stability on all steep North-West through North to East aspects above 800m. Newly formed weak cornices will hang over many of these locations. Much better stability on all windward aspects and ridges. The avalanche hazard will be Considerable.

Forecast Weather Influences: Heavy overnight snowfall turning showery by dawn. Strong South-South-East winds easing to moderate in the morning and becoming South-South-Westerly later. Very cold overnight, freezing level rising to 750m by midday. Observed Weather Influences: Dry, cold and clear with plenty of sunshine in the early part of the day. Light South-West winds. ObservedSnowStability: Good stability, hard and icy in many locations. Localised accumulations of windslab were present on a few steep Southerly aspects above 950m; sustained sunshine brought some early consolidation to surface layers in these places. Areas of shallow moderately bonded older cold windslab lie on some steep heavily shaded West to North- West facing aspects above the same altitude. The avalanche hazard is Low
