Avalanche Activity

Forecast Snow Stability: Fresh deposits of windslab are expected to accumulate on East to South aspects above 900 meters. These instabilities will affect wind sheltered locations such as gully tops and corrie rims. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: Storm force North-Westerly winds. Snow expected throughout the forecast period. The freezing level will lower to around 200 meters. Observed Weather Influences: Strong increasing to gale force North-Westerly winds. A trace of overnight snow down to 700 meters. The freezing level rose to around 900 meters. ObservedSnowStability: The remaining snowpack is firm with generally good stability in most locations. The greatest areas of snow are confined to coire back walls, coire rims, and on high plateaus on North to East aspects above 950 metres. The avalanche hazard is Low.
