Avalanche Activity

Apart from the danger of being buried, restraint should be exercised in particular in view of the danger of avalanches sweeping people along and giving rise to falls.

Some snow has fallen since Friday. Several small and, in isolated cases, medium-sized dry avalanches are possible. The wind slabs are mostly shallow but can be released in isolated cases. In steep terrain there is a danger of falling on the hard snow surface. These avalanche prone locations are covered with new snow and are difficult to recognise.

Snowpack Structure

Above approximately 1000 m snow has fallen since Friday over a wide area. Only a small amount of snow is lying for the time of year in all altitude zones.
