Forecast Snow Stability: Little change is expected in the snowpack. Some unstable but shallow, isolated and generally avoidable deposits of windslab will remain on mainly West to North aspects above 900 metres. Otherwise the snowpack will be shallow and generally stable. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: A cloudy but dry day with near gale South-Easterly winds. The freezing level will be around 600 metres. Observed Weather Influences: After some light overnight snow at all levels it was a generally dry but cloudy day. Winds were from the South-East. The freezing level rose to around 700 metres through the day. ObservedSnowStability: The snowpack is generally shallow and well bonded. Some localised deposits of windslab had formed overnight and were present on West through to North aspects above 900 metres. However, these tended to be isolated, shallow and avoidable. The avalanche hazard is Low.
