Avalanche Activity

New snow and wind slabs in the early morning. The new snow represents the main danger.

As a consequence of new snow and a sometimes storm force wind, sometimes avalanche prone wind slabs will form in the course of the day in all aspects. In particular in northeast to east to southwest facing aspects individual mostly small slab avalanches are possible as the snowfall becomes more intense.

Snowpack Structure

The new snow will be deposited on the quite favourable surface of an old snowpack in particular on shady slopes.
