The avalanche danger is low, isolated danger areas due to fresh snowdrift accumulations can be found behind the edges of the terrain adjacent to the ridgeline, crest or summit.

Snowpack Structure

Little snow. There is often only a few centimetres of soft snow or wind slab on the meadows or on a thin crust of harsh snow.

Weather Forecast

The mountains will often be covered in clouds on Thursday, with light snowfall at times, especially in the morning. Mostly 1 to 5 cm will fall. Significant sunny spells are initially only expected on the Lungau Nockberge mountains, in the afternoon it may also clear up a little in the other mountain groups. The wind will blow briskly from west to north-west at higher altitudes. It will be a touch milder. Temperatures at 2000 metres between -13 and -7 degrees.
